Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) is indicated to reduce the appearance of skin imperfections and congestion. The formula's high 10% concentration of this vitamin is supported by the zinc salt of pyrrolidone carboxylic acid to balance the visible aspects of sebum activity.
Contraindications: If topical vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid and/or L-ascorbic acid) is used as part of skin care, it should be used at alternate times with this formula (ideally vitamin C in the PM and this formula in the AM). Otherwise, niacinamide can affect the safety of the vitamin C.
Notes: While both Niacinamide and Zinc PCA reduce the appearance of blemishes and balance visible sebum activity, they are not a cure for acne. For persistent acne-related conditions, we recommend the use of benzoyl peroxide and/or retinoic acid. DECIEM does not recommend the continued use of a BHA such as salicylic acid for persistent blemishes. For temporary improvement in the appearance of blemishes, salicylic acid helps. This formula can be used in conjunction with acne treatments if desired for increased visible skin benefits.
Independent studies indicate that niacinamide is also an effective skin-lightening ingredient.
How to use:
Apply all over face morning and evening before heavier creams. If irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult a physician. Use only as directed on unbroken skin. A patch test is recommended before use. Refer to our in-depth patch-testing guide. Keep out of reach of children.
